A Space Where Men Get Real Support—Without the Pretence
A Space Where Men Get Real support.
For too long, too many men have suffered in silence. They’ve pushed down their stress, buried their pain, and held it together—until they couldn’t anymore. And when they finally decided to reach out? What they found often didn’t speak to them. It felt clinical. Disconnected. Designed for someone else. That’s why Blokes Psychology exists.
We’re not just another psychology practice. We’re a dedicated, purpose-driven team on a mission to change how mental health support is offered to boys and men across Australia.
Back in 2018, our founder Carl, still an active psychologist at Blokes Psychology, noticed a serious problem. Despite the alarming stats around male suicide, addiction, and untreated mental illness, the mental health space didn’t seem to cater to men in any meaningful way. Services were often generic, language was clinical, and the atmosphere wasn’t always welcoming to guys who were already hesitant to reach out.
So, he built something different.
What started as a solo venture - just Carl and a small room rented in a local physio clinic- has since grown into a thriving practice with multiple clinics across Melbourne. We’ve supported thousands of clients, built a team of psychologists who genuinely care, and earned a reputation for doing things differently.
But no matter how much we grow, the heart of Blokes Psychology hasn’t changed: we’re here to make support feel accessible, human, and real.
Men are often taught that strength means silence; that asking for help is a weakness; that “getting on with it” is the only option.
We’re here to challenge all of that.
We’re not a polished corporate health service. We don’t pretend to be.
Our clients appreciate that we’re human, grounded, and values-led.
Our mission is clear:
To break down the stigma around men’s mental health and provide real, high-quality support to blokes of all ages.
From teenage boys trying to find their place in the world, to fathers juggling pressure at home and work, to retirees facing identity shifts, we support men at every stage of life. And we do it with compassion, care, and zero judgment.
Here’s what we stand for:
Care: We treat people as people. Not case files or numbers.
Compassion: We listen. We sit in the tough stuff with you. We show up.
Authenticity: We mean what we say and practise what we preach.
Professionalism: We’re qualified, experienced, and deeply serious about what we do—but we don’t hide behind jargon or titles.
These values aren’t buzzwords. They’re baked into every interaction—from the first phone call to every session that follows.
You’ll hear this a lot, but we mean it: we’re not your standard psychology practice.
What makes us different isn’t just that we focus on men’s mental health. It’s the way we approach it. We’ve built a service that speaks to men, not around them or over them.
This isn’t just a job to us. Blokes Psychology grew out of frustration, but it’s sustained by purpose.
Meet our dedicated psychologists, passionate about men's mental health and providing tailored support.
At Blokes Psychology, our team is handpicked not just for their qualifications (though we tick every box there), but for who they are as people. Our psychologists bring expertise in everything from anxiety and depression to ADHD, PTSD, relationship breakdowns, and more.
But above all, they bring warmth, humour, and humanity.
Some of us have been through tough times ourselves. All of us are here because we genuinely care about helping men live fuller, better lives.
We support:
And while we focus on men, we also welcome people of all identities and backgrounds. If our approach resonates with you, you’re welcome here.
Walk into one of our clinics, and you’ll feel it. Our team culture is one of the things we’re most proud of.
We don’t do egos. We don’t do corporate hierarchy. What we do is support each other, share the wins and setbacks, and bring our full selves to work, so that our clients can do the same.
We believe in fun, honesty, and looking after our own mental health just as much as we care for others. Because good therapists don’t just know how to help people—they live it.

We believe mental health care should extend beyond the therapy room. That’s why we partner with local charities, community groups, and national organisations doing vital work in this space.
Some of our partnerships include:
It’s Okay Not To Be Okay: Carl sits on the board and collaborates on awareness initiatives.
Spoke to a Bloke: A men’s mental health project we regularly support through content and consulting.
A Path To Follow: A local charity offering mentorship and guidance to young people.
Bayside Masters Rugby Club: We are proudly sponsor as part of our commitment to community wellbeing.
We’ve also been featured on ABC TV and radio, and Carl has contributed expert opinion to numerous articles on men’s health. In 2021, he was a finalist in the Australian Men’s Health Forum’s “Local Men’s Health Champion” awards.
